When you live in Kent County like I do, a project like the Downtown Dover Mobility Center is more than just an idea – these are your neighbors, your local businesses, and your community. So from day one, EDiS worked with the Downtown Dover Partnership (DDP) to make sure their commitment to local and equitable participation in this project was more than words. We structured the work into bid packages that smaller, local shops could compete for and win, participated in local events and town halls, and mixed good old picking up the phone with broader digital outreach instead of waiting for people to find us. That opened real doors for local and DBE firms while allowing us to protect the project’s standards on quality and value.
It’s just the way we’ve always believed in doing business. EDiS is a Delaware-founded, Delaware-based company, and helping this project impact the local economy was exactly the point. And this is just the first step – the DDP has a master plan for Downtown Dover, and we’re proud to be helping lay the foundation for the first steps in that plan.
