EDiS Company was hired to build the Tubman/Garrett Riverfront Park for the Riverfront Development Corporation. The Tubman/Garrett Riverfront Park and Riverwalk now occupies what used to be a gravel parking lot. The transformation took eight months and included a new parking lot, bulkhead additions, and renovations. This was a major step in the rebirth of Wilmington’s Riverfront. The Tubman/Garrett Riverfront Park consists of 2.4 acres, which equates to 46,150 square feet of lawn and 85 trees. The Riverwalk runs 1,150 feet along the Christina River from Poplar Street to the Market Street Bridge.
