Summer Internship

2022 Intern and Co-Op Experience

August 16, 2022 • 3 MIN READ

After engaging in talks with the New Castle County Vocational-Technical School District, the EDiS team decided to do things a little differently this year. Instead of just hiring interns for the summer, it was decided to also take on co-ops from the school district to work throughout the school year as part of their curriculum. Many talented and enthusiastic interns and co-ops were brought on board as a result. The interns’ experiences ran the gamut, from learning about virtual 3-D models and graphic design to receiving hands-on training at several construction sites. Each intern was guided by professionals within the company, gaining valuable work experience in project management, building information modeling (BIM), marketing, field supervision, and more. While making these personal connections and developing themselves as individuals, the interns and co-ops became a part of the EDiS family. We’d like to thank them for teaching us a thing or two, and wish them luck as they continue on their educational journey!

Summer intern Zach Jones was assigned to Appoquinimink School District’s Crystal Run Elementary School project. He’s going into his junior year at the University of Delaware for a Bachelor’s in Construction Engineering and Management.

Summer intern Andrew Cedillo was assigned to the Kennett Library & Resource Center project. He’s going into his senior year at the University of Delaware also for a Bachelor’s in Construction Engineering and Management.

Summer co-op Joaquin Nieves spends his time learning directly from the EDiS BIM Services team. His assignment aligns with his focus at Hodgson Vocational Technical High School, where he’s a junior studying technical drafting. Joaquin will remain with us until the end of the school year.

Summer co-op Dominic Malgire is also learning directly from the EDiS BIM Services team. A fellow attendee of Hodgson Vocational Technical High School, Dominic is a junior studying technical drafting. Dominic will also remain with us until the end of the school year.
