a project for the community.

In 2023 the Latin American Community Center (LACC) cut the ribbon on their new 16,000 SF La Fiesta Early Development Center. An additional 108 children benefit from the space stationed next to their headquarters on Van Buren Street in the heart of Wilmington, DE. The LACC needed an entirely new space as the community center itself could only house 136 students. More than just a daycare, the LACC provides duel English education for the older children and Spanish immersion for the infants and toddlers.

Building

a brand new education hub.

The new three-story center includes multiple classrooms for both infants and toddlers, office space, a teacher resource room, break room, kitchen, and a feature roof-top play deck.

full circle.

The center serves as a cornerstone of the community and will do so for years to come, providing a space for children to develop both mentally and physically during the most crucial stages of life. Having originally built the Latin American Community Center itself in 1999, the EDiS team was excited to have brought the project full circle.

“Being Latina, you have to take a stand, you have to stand for what’s right and just. Education is the key to success. Without it, you’re not going to succeed.”
