Renovation and expansion of Wilmington’s historic Custom House, a $76.7 million project for the Delaware Judiciary. The project adds a 51,650-square-foot wrap-around addition to the 15,000-square-foot landmark building — originally constructed in 1855 as the first federal building in Delaware — resulting in a 66,650-square-foot facility slated for completion in 2026. The renovation will restore the building’s second-floor courtroom for ceremonial functions and legal proceedings, and will provide a permanent home for New Castle County Supreme Court offices, branch administrative offices, and the Judiciary’s Community Resource Center.
