Project-Field Manager

Corporate Office, Wilmington, DE

Project-Field Manager

Position Summary

Some people are made for spreadsheets and schedules. Others are made to be hands-on. If you’re the rare mythical creature who thrives in both—you might be our next Project–Field Manager.

At EDiS, we’re looking for someone who can bid, price, and manage fast-paced construction projects—while also being the presence on site that keeps things running smooth, safe, and on schedule. If you know small and special projects (up to $500,000), you know they pop up fast, require thinking on your boots, tight coordination, and someone like you who can turn “Can you get someone out here?” into “It’s already done.”

Your priorities will be:

  1. Project Management: Scope it, price it, and run it well. You’ll be the lead from the pre-bid phase to closeout.
  2. Field Oversight: Coordinate trade workers, manage daily operations from on-site, and conduct daily site and safety inspections.
  3. Be the Answer to “I Know A Guy (or Gal)”: Be the kind of person our clients want to call again, and again, and again.

Day to Day you will:

  • Start with a Plan: Review construction documents, check in on the schedule, and coordinate daily priorities with your subs and internal team.
  • Own the Site: Walk the jobsite for safety, quality, and progress—making real-time adjustments and corrections.
  • Keep Everyone Aligned: Hold quick but effective site meetings, coordinate inspections, and make sure everyone—from electricians to end users—knows what’s next.
  • Be a Tracking Ninja: Track field conditions, time and materials, and contractor performance. Keep daily logs up to date and documentation airtight.
  • Manage the Money: Monitor work orders, costs, and potential changes. Flag anything that could impact profitability or schedule.
  • Close it Right: Develop pre-punch and final punch lists, support turnover documentation, and make sure every project wraps as strong as it started.

Your Skills Look Like:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Proficient In Bluebeam for PDF markup.
  • Knowledge of labor markets and subcontractor base in DE, MD, PA, and NJ.
  • Strong communicator—written, verbal, and in-person.
  • Calm under pressure, flexible when things shift, and able to maintain focus on goals and results.
  • Able to lead in the field, but also think strategically about project profitability and quality.

Your Experience Looks Like:

  • 5+ years of construction experience, including direct field supervision.
  • Ability to self-perform minor carpentry and construction labor as needed.
  • OSHA 30-hour Certification.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • 4-year degree in Construction, Engineering, or a related field preferred—but equivalent work experience welcome.

Your Benefits Looks Like:

  • Medical and Dental Insurance
  • 401(k) match
  • Wellness Program
  • Short & Long Term Disability
  • Maternity & Paternity Leave
  • Tuition reimbursement program.

What’s your first step?

Typically, our hiring process follows the order below. We won’t move you on to the next round unless we’re serious about it, and we’ll let you know where you stand.
