EDiS’ Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of EDiS’ Executive Management Team and the strategic planning process. The CFO is a role model for high performance, and an outspoken advocate for EDiS’ vision, and our strategy to achieve that vision. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling financial-related activities of the company.  This includes actively playing a role in the growth of company revenue and profitability, which will deliver incentive compensation to employees, executives, and shareholders. The CFO is responsible for leading, developing, and mentoring Accounting Department team members to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the team’s work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Participate in developing, administering, and achieving EDiS’ Strategic Plan, organizational goals, and company policies.
  2. Coordinate functions and operations across departments to ensure activities align with strategic goals and meet internal and external customers’ expectations.
  3. Steward of EDiS’ financial strength and profitability by directing and overseeing company’s accounting and finance functions.
  4. Proactively monitor and provide timely and accurate reports to company Principals on current financial status and financial trends and forecasts of EDiS Company and its divisions.
  5. Provide advice and recommendations on the financial implication of business activities.
  6. Develop and implement goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting, and payroll.
  7. Assist Operations and Estimating in developing fees and/or profit margins on the various projects the company is pursuing. Then, if awarded a contract, continue to monitor our results versus the original expectations.
  8. Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of a comprehensive job cost system.
  9. Monitor, report on, and make recommendations based on employee overhead and utilization projections.
  10. Direct internal audits, reviewing accounting, and administrative controls.
  11. Coordinate preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting.
  12. Analyze employee benefit program and make recommendations based on cost and added value to employees.
  13. Conduct wage surveys to determine competitive compensation.
  14. Train and ensure assigned employees are aware of and comply with company policies and procedures.
  15. Assist Human Resources with staffing and hiring by monitoring workload and manpower needs and participating in interview process, making hiring recommendations.
  16. Effectively manage subordinate team members’ activities, providing regular feedback, developing their skills, and encouraging growth.

Qualifications/Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products and the company’s current accounting software package.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger/job costing systems and procedures.
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely information.
  • Strong problem solving skills, comprehensive accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis, and multi-tasking skills.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • MBA and/or CPA.
  • 10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in construction industry.
