Corporate Office, Wilmington, DE
CFO
At EDiS, we’ve been building what matters for over a century—and we know that behind every great builder is a rock-solid financial foundation. That’s where you come in.
We’re on the search for a Chief Financial Officer who knows their way around a balance sheet and a boardroom. Someone who can lead a team, steer strategy, and still get excited about the details. You’ll be our financial compass—guiding the company with clarity, insight, and a commitment to smart, sustainable growth.
If you’re a mission-driven leader who wants to play a real role in shaping a company’s future—we’d love to meet you.
Lead with the Numbers (Obviously). You’ll develop the strategy behind the dashboards—forecasting growth, building financial plans, and guiding big-picture decisions with real-time information.
Keep Our House in Order. Oversee accounting, payroll, job costing, audits, and reporting across all divisions, with a steady hand and a sharp eye.
Coach the Team. Manage and mentor a team of six accounting pros, building a culture of accountability, trust, and growth.
Be Our Strategic Sounding Board. Work closely with the CEO and executive team to evaluate business opportunities and make smart, forward-thinking decisions.
Balance Risk and Reward. Evaluate financial performance, maintain internal controls, and keep us aligned with our values, goals, and shared rewards.
Day to Day You Will:
Translate complex financials into clear insights for company leadership—no magic decoder ring required.
Help Project Executives and Estimators set the right margins, then track performance throughout the life of each project.
Lead and continually improve our job cost and financial systems.
Coordinate internal audits and prepare external financial reporting.
Work alongside HR to support compensation strategy, benefit design, and team growth.
Lead with presence—mentoring your team, championing EDiS culture, and keeping the big picture in focus.
Your Skills Look Like:
Deep knowledge of construction industry finance, accounting, and job cost systems.
Tech savvy—especially in Microsoft Excel and major accounting software (we use Viewpoint/Spectrum).
Strong communicator—you know how to speak finance to non-finance people.
Creative thinker and practical problem-solver—you find a way through, not around.
Steady under pressure and calm in the chaos—you bring confidence and clarity to the table.
You build great teams and even better relationships.
Your Experience Looks Like:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience (construction industry background is a major plus).
5+ years of experience leading a team—hiring, mentoring, and developing talent.
Proven track record of contributing to company strategy and long-term success.
Your Benefits Look Like:
Medical and Dental Insurance
401(k) match
Wellness Program
Short & Long Term Disability
Maternity & Paternity Leave
Tuition reimbursement program
