BIM Technician II

Wilmington, DE

BIM Technician II

Position Summary

If your idea of a good time involves Revit families, clash detection, and a beautifully structured model that actually aligns with the MEP layout with zero clashes detected, welcome home!

At EDiS, our AMP (Advanced Modeling Precision) team blends construction tech with practical, on-site expertise to make buildings smarter, faster, and more coordinated from day one. We’re filling a BIM Technician II job with someone who knows their way around Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Fabrication – and who understands that modeling isn’t just a digital exercise, it’s construction in 4D.

This is a role for the detail-obsessed, the software-fluent, the “wait-let’s-clash-this-first” kind of teammate. You’ll collaborate with project teams, convert 2D to 3D LOD models, support constructability reviews, and bring technical modeling skills to real-world coordination. If that sounds like your kind of workflow, keep reading!

Your priorities will be:

  1. Model Like You Mean It: Create high-quality architectural, structural, and MEP models from 2D drawings, using our VDC tech stack to achieve accuracy, constructability, and consistency.
  2. Clash Commander: Run clash reports in Navisworks and Revizto, identify conflicts early, and support the team in resolving them before they hit the field.
  3. Support the Field: Provide accurate shop drawings and point cloud coordination to ensure our boots-on-the-ground teams have the information they need to build it right the first time.
  4. Quality Obsessed: Follow the AMP team’s QA/QC process so that models meet our standards before they ever hit a coordination meeting or go to the client.
  5. Stay Curious: Embrace new tech and tools. Help refine workflows and contribute to the evolution of how we deliver modeling and VDC support.

What’s your first step?

Typically, our hiring process follows the order below. We won’t move you on to the next round unless we’re serious about it, and we’ll let you know where you stand.

  1. First, we’ll review your resume. If you haven’t included references, you may be asked for them.
  2. Next, you’ll be invited to schedule a 30-minute screening call with a member of our team.

Day to Day you will:

  • Convert 2D construction documents into highly coordinated 3D models for MEP, structure, and architecture.
  • Create Revit families and Fabrication edits that improve model accuracy and field usability.
  • Assist with point cloud alignment and field laser scanning coordination.
  • Communicate with design teams, contractors, and our own field staff to ensure clarity and alignment.
  • Maintain documentation, clash reports, and model updates across multiple platforms, because clean data makes for clean installs.
  • Visit job sites to better understand field conditions and project goals, because we model for real buildings.

Your Skills Look Like:

  • You understand BIM as a process, not just a toolset.
  • You’ve worked with Autodesk Fabrication, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and cloud-based platforms like Revizto.
  • You can explain complex modeling issues to field staff, clients, or someone who still calls it “AutoCad.”
  • You know how to keep your files clean, your folders organized, and your QA/QC checklist close.
  • You like a fast-paced, detail-oriented workflow where your work gets used and appreciated.

Your Experience Looks Like:

  • A degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on modeling experience with Revit, Fabrication, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
  • Revit or CAD certification strongly preferred.
  • OSHA 10-hour, CPR, and First Aid certified (or ready to get there with our help).
  • Experience with coordination for commercial construction projects, ideally with complex MEP systems.

Your Benefits Looks Like:

  • Medical and Dental Insurance
  • 401(k) match
  • Wellness Program
  • Short & Long Term Disability

  • Tuition reimbursement program.
