Project Executive

EDiS’ Project Executive is a key member of EDiS’ Management Team and strategic planning process. The Project Executive is a role model for high performance, and an outspoken advocate for EDiS’ vision, and our strategy to achieve that vision. EDiS’ Project Executive actively plays a role in the growth of company revenues by creating customer loyalty through an exceptional customer experience. This position is responsible for the oversight of multiple construction projects, supervising project team members to achieve the highest level of safety, quality, and productivity on each project. As a main point of contact to our clients, the Project Executive is involved in a project from pre-construction through to completion and turnover. Additional responsibilities include developing new business and repeat business with clients. The Project Executive is responsible for leading, developing, and mentoring team members to ensure the team’s and projects’ success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Participate in developing, administering, and achieving EDiS’ Strategic Plan, organizational goals, and company policies.
  2. Coordinate functions and operations across departments to ensure activities align with strategic goals and meet internal and external customers’ expectations.
  3. Train and ensure assigned employees are aware of and are successfully implementing EDiS’ policies, procedures, and project processes, as relevant. (e.g. COMPASS, PlanCheck, Pre-Install, Closeout, etc.)
  4. Manage pre-construction phase on assigned projects, including preliminary schedules, budgets, value engineering efforts, and design reviews.
  5. Create project budget, including fees, General Conditions items, and reimbursable labor assuming primary profit/loss responsibility for overall corporate success.
  6. Plan, direct, coordinate, and/or supervise activities on assigned projects to ensure a successful project outcome with regards to schedule, budget, and customer satisfaction.
  7. Keep company principals informed of critical project related issues. Offer feedback to improve EDiS performance.
  8. Attend regular executive level meetings, many of which may occur after normal business hours. (g. Board Meetings, Town Hall, Community meetings, etc.)
  9. Attend project events throughout construction and coordinate the activities associated. (g. ground breakings, ribbon cuttings, steel topping out, etc.)
  10. Perform necessary administrative activities associated with projects and corporate functions, submitting appropriate reports, timely, clearly, and accurately.
  11. Assist Human Resources with staffing and hiring by monitoring workload and manpower needs and participating in interview process, making hiring recommendations.
  12. Effectively manage subordinate team members’ activities, providing regular feedback, developing their skills, and encouraging growth.
  13. Develop opportunities and growth for EDiS through business development efforts by initiating and maintaining relationships with clients, contractors, and A/E contacts.
  14. Participate in sales and marketing activities to help win work. (e.g. networking events, written proposals, presentations, etc.)
  15. Visit assigned projects on a routine basis. Ability to travel and report to projects/office locations as required.

  11. Strong negotiation skills to resolve project conditions with subcontractor, design team, and/or client
  12. Superior verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present information one-on-one and speak in front of groups
  13. Superior written communication skills with the ability to write routine reports and business correspondence
  14. Commitment to superior customer service, responding promptly to the clients’ needs, and meeting commitments

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  2. 20+ years of direct construction management experience
  3. 10+ years managerial experience successfully managing individuals and teams
  4. PMP, CCM, or additional professional certification
  5. Experience running projects large in scale, size, and complexity
  6. Proven success managing multiple projects concurrently
  7. OSHA 30-hour Certification
  8. Current CPR and First Aid certification
  9. Comprehensive knowledge of and experience managing multiple delivery methods – GC, CM, Design-Build
  10. Advanced knowledge of specialty areas (e.g., MEP systems, building envelope)
