Specifics:

The Wilmington Library is being retrofitted to meet the uses of the modern society needs. The interior spaces are being remodeled to create more space for the public. What was storage space will become areas for Children’s and Teens to read and develop. The second floor Computer lab and Job center will be developed into various sized conference rooms and Literacy center. The first floor common areas will be retrofitted with a more open design, glass walls and doors will separate spaces to allow for quite spaces while still allowing visual sight lines of the entire Library; keeping the feel open and relaxing.  While some areas are being modernized other areas will keep their historic elements. These elements will be cleaned and repaired to ensure the History is preserved though society is moving forward.
